Phoenix, Arizona - June 25, 2012.  In his latest book, Suicide of a Superpower (2012), the American political commentator, Pat Buchanan, referred to the massive collapse of Christian values in U.S. culture since mid-twentieth century as “the death of Christian America.” However, in his new book, Salvation is from the Jews: Moses, Judaism, and the Jewishness of Christianity (published by West Bow Press on December 2011), Christian theologian, J. Christopher, gives a different explanation for the same event.

According to Christopher, what appeared as a “death” of Christianity was actually a fulfillment of prophecies given by Jesus and his chief Jewish apostle, Paul. Christopher explains how, as a Jew, Jesus predicted that when Gentiles lost control of old Jerusalem, which occurred on June 7, 1967, the Gentile phase of his "New Covenant" form of Judaism would officially be over. The final phase, which is Jewish-centered, would then officially begin. As for Paul, he predicted that, in the final (or Jewish-centered) phase, a huge Jewish following of Jesus would emerge as many Jews would rethink their position on Jesus and recognize him as the Jewish Messiah.  For Christopher, U.S. and Jewish history since the 1940s has been giving clear signals in support of this view. The 1947 establishment of the legal doctrine of “the separation of Church and state” was the first major clue that, after Europe, Christian influence in U.S. society was already following in its own sharp decline.  By the end of the 1960s, after a series of additional set-backs, Gentile Christianity’s social influence in America had reached rock bottom.  But at the same time, Christopher notes that Jews in large numbers returned to their ancestral lands in the 1940s, established the State of Israel in 1948, and Gentiles lost control of Jerusalem in 1967. For Christopher, this meant the end of a prophetic biblical era and the rise of another.  Since that turning point, in apparent fulfillment of the prophecies of Jesus and Paul, Jewish acceptance of Jesus has experienced a substantial and steady increase that continues as unabated as it is unprecedented in scope in all of Christian history.  For an extended detailed account of the evidence compiled by Christopher in support of his view, as well as additional information on the author, his book, and its message, visit the website, http://ncjudaism.com/The_New_Jewish_Era.html.

Following his belief that Christian history is now in its final or Jewish stage just prior to the second appearance of Jesus the Messiah, Christopher says that every Gentile Christian needs to begin mentally and spiritually to relate to and get used to the new and rising Jewish Messianic Era in Christianity. He sees his book, Salvation is from the Jews, as providing what every Gentile Christian needs to know to achieve this.
