This week's edition of the PBS newsmagazine program RELIGION & ETHICS NEWSWEEKLY (distributed Friday, July 25 at 5 p.m., check local listings) with guest host Deborah Potter will feature the following reports:

  • Perspectives: "2008 Campaign: Update on the Candidates and Religion" - Guest host Deborah Potter talks with Managing Editor Kim Lawton about the campaign's latest efforts to reach out to religious voters, including the candidates' upcoming joint appearance at best-selling author Rick Warren's Saddleback Church in California.
  • Pediatric AIDS Corps - Fred De Sam Lazaro reports from Malawi on one attempt to address the shortage of doctors and nurses in African countries through the establishment of the Pediatric Aids Corps Program.
  • Interfaith Wedding - Betty Rollin provides a behind-the-scenes look at how dual marriage celebrations of a Hindu-Sikh interfaith couple helps honor each of their families' different religious traditions.

Zogby International gives Religion & Ethics NewsWeekly exclusive data about how likely religious voters view several potential vice-presidential candidates, and managing editor Kim Lawton analyzes those numbers.
