Well stated. This shows the importance of understanding the fundamentals of Media Literacy 101. I think it easy to get trapped into the premonition that the NYT is the height of journalism and therefore one can turn off the blinders media criticism and evaluation. This insightful piece shows the errors of that decision.

The more Mollie writes in response to a comment, the larger the hole she tends to dig herself. Since she’s already staked out her position on the issue, she has a hard time backing down when it’s point out she’s wrong.
